Consult and compare the fees and expenses leaflets of the price lists in Portugal. Leaflets on fees and expenses include information on the charges levied by the institutions on the products and services they market.
This feature allows you to consult the history of each institution’s price lists since January 2017.
A price list is the set of information on the general conditions of financial products and services made available to the public by credit institutions.
The price list comprises:
Leaflet of fees and expenses – this includes the maximum amounts of all fees and the indicative value of the key expenses;
Leaflet of interest rates – this includes information on the interest rates representing the loans they grant and the deposits they receive.
The information contained in the price list should be:
Harmonised – in the price list model, institutions should present the information by type of banking operation and by type of customer (private and others) to facilitate the comparison of the price lists of different institutions;
Current – credit institutions must ensure that price list information is always up-to-date, reflecting the institution’s business decisions and any legislative or regulatory changes that impact the marketing conditions of banking products and services;
Accessible – credit institutions are required to make the price list available at all of their branches, in a direct and properly identified place of access, and on their websites, without the need for the prior registration of customers.
Credit institutions must inform their customers in advance of the content of price list changes if, in accordance with the contract, these changes imply changes in the contractual conditions.
Where credit institutions relate to their customers through remote means of communication, the price list information shall be made available to such customers in good time and prior to their being bound to a proposal or contract.
The leaflet of fees and expenses of the price list:
presents the maximum amount of all the fees that institutions charge on the banking products and services they market. Fees that are not included in the price list or that exceed the amount indicated in the price list cannot be charged. The fees correspond to the payment of the services provided by the institutions in the scope of their activity or subcontracted by them to third parties;
presents the indicative amount of the main expenses that customers may have to pay to the credit institution. The expenses correspond to the other charges borne by the institutions, which are required by third parties, and which these institutions may pass on to customers since they are due, in particular, to payments to conservatories, notary offices or have a fiscal nature;
discloses information about value dates and dates on which amounts credited to deposit accounts are made available.
You can consult the leaflets of fees and expenses of the price list on this page.
The leaflet of interest rates of the price list:
presents the interest rates that represent the operations that the institutions normally apply on the loans they grant and on the deposits they receive;
provides the gross annual nominal interest rate of deposits as well as the annual effective rate and the annual effective rate of charge of credit operations and also the conventions underlying the calculation of the interest rates.
The interest rates leaflet does not provide a comprehensive list of all the interest rates practiced by the institution, since these are negotiated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the characteristics of each operation and the credit risk of each customer.
To know the amount of the interest rate applied to your case, you should consult the standard information sheet or the key information document provided by the institution.
